As the head of MIT’s Laboratory for Computer Science, Michael Dertouzos clearly understands the importance of computer technology. Yet in his book “What Will Be: How the New World of Information Will Change Our Lives”, he expressed exasperation over the oftentimes unfriendliness of today’s computer systems.
If one of the nation’s top computer scientists gets mad at his computer, it is no wonder that computers are so frustrating for those who are less highly trained.
I’m David Bailey, and as a professional technical consultant, I am challenged every day to deliver PC technical support to my customers in ways that are straightforward, and in language that they can easily understand.
